Happy Therapy Clients
Meet David
Hello, I’m David Stewart. First, thank you for visiting Stewart Family Counseling. Seeking help for personal life challenges can be an intimidating process, especially if it’s your first time. Been there! So let me give you some background information about myself to help ease some of angst in deciding if and when to move forward.
Here’s a few of the disorders and struggles I treat:
Happy Therapy Clients
Years of Experiece
Veteran
I am a U.S. Army veteran, having served as an airborne communications specialist. This role involved jumping out of airplanes to remote locations with field communications equipment. This gear assisted frontline troops to communicate with headquarters. I chose to go “airborne” to conquer my fear of heights—though I still get lightheaded looking down from a third-story balcony! However, it was through my experience as a paratrooper that I learned I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. I also discovered the power of external motivators and accountability in pushing individuals to achieve levels they wouldn’t reach through solo efforts alone.
Business Owner
After completing my military service, I returned to school and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, then pursued a career in the insurance industry. In 1995, I founded FCE Insurance Services, an agency specializing in employee benefits, which I successfully operated for 15 years.
During those years, I realized that with God’s help, I could achieve any goal I set for myself. This experience ignited a passion in me to help others who may struggle with self-belief and their ability to live their best lives.
Life Coach
I received Life Coach training and certification through the American Association of Christian Counselors and was mentored by several ICF-certified life coaches while running my insurance agency.
After becoming certified, I operated both FCE Insurance Services and Stewart Performance Coaching until I returned to school to earn a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology. In 2012, I closed my insurance business to establish Stewart Family Counseling.
This allowed me to pursue my passion for helping those in need, and I haven’t looked back since!
